Our TEN WEEK foundation courses are held once per week - at the same day and time for one hour; suited to all levels of students whether you are completely new, returning to or perhaps rediscovering yoga.
Each class is specifically structured towards learning the elements of hatha yoga, incorporating 'vinyasa': the fluid union of breath and movement, as well as basic alignment, how to use props and some basic yogic philosophy.
With expert guidance by experienced yoga teachers, FLOW foundations is a slower paced class where each week builds on the next; we believe this model of learning and practicing yoga is engaging and empowering for all individuals regardless of age, shape or size.
We have structured this as an ongoing series, where students are encouraged to return and continue each term, as you become more familiar with the teachings and postures you'll be offered variations to progress, build and deepen your practice, as well as enjoying the benefits that ongoing yoga practice provide.
One make up class is permitted at one of our scheduled drop-in classes during the same term of classes by pre-arrangement.
Using physical and verbal alignment queues, students will learn:
- Pranayama (breath work)
- Surya Namaskara (known as Sun Salutations)
- Foundation Standing Postures
- Bandhas - Establish Core Awareness
- Seated Postures & Twists
- Backbends & Inversions
- Yin + Restorative Yoga
Each of these elements are sequenced together to culminate in a flowing vinyasa: a moving meditation.
